During the formative stages of his career, the fabulously named Porn Sword Tobacco (Swedish artist Henrik Jonsson) was most often associated with experimental electronica and avant-garde electronica. In recent years, though, he’s moved closer to the dancefloor while still retaining his love of odd electronics and strange samples. He’s in that mode on this five-track excursion. The A-side delivers a trio of sturdy, dusty and lightly dubbed-out leftfield deep house workouts, with the intergalactic shuffle of ‘Keyboard S 400 (Line Out Dub)’ and the tougher, more thickset dancefloor deepness of ‘Kontrakts In Space (Lovers Lounge Mix)’ being joined by the mutant ghetto-house-meets-techno rush of ‘System Entertains (Nino Mix)’. Ge returns to his roots on 20-miniute B-side ‘FM/Over Isen (vinyl version 1)’, a wonderfully immersive ambient soundscape.
