For much of his career, German producer Alva Noto has been associated with precision, his work often described in clinical terms. This instalment in the Xerrox series complicates that image, drawing on early encounters with science fiction and literature, then filtering them through his self-built software into something more personal, even unexpectedly exposed. Across pieces like ‘Xerrox Atmosphere’ and ‘Xerrox Radieuse’, tones bloom and dissolve, edges softening as fragments drift into view and slip away again. ‘Xerrox Isola’ holds a quieter centre, while ‘Xerrox Spiegel’ seems to fold back on itself, its reflections never quite aligning.
