Description
2026, 12″ LP, Bastard Jazz.
Best known for his work as a bassist and as part of the Gifted Culture collective, Italian artist Eric Demuro has slowly been piecing together a debut solo album. Finally released by Bastard Jazz, Simulcara offers a tantalising glimpse into Demuro’s ever-expanding sound world. Across the album’s six tracks, he giddily flits between atmospheric, Balearic-minded library jazz-funk (the Nu Genea-ish ‘Freedom Layers (Pilchard Rounds)’, more upbeat and expressive takes on the same core sound (‘Ara Macao’), picturesque, analogue synth-powered ambient soundscapes (‘Dreamsteam’), languid and flute-laden shufflers (the immersive downtempo delight that is ‘Railroad Ties’), sunset-ready dreaminess (the marimba-flecked ‘Backlash Off The Grid’), and drifting, spaced-out sonic warmth (‘Hau’).
