Description
2025, 12″ LP, Balmat.
Norwegian musicians Ingri Hoyland and Ida Urd dove under the covers with their first collab album Duvet, which emerged during a winter stay in a Danish sommerhus: a kind of quiet retreat, where snow-muted gardens and empty beaches framed cosy writing sessions. Both studied at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, and their partnership soon grew into a dialogue-based method where sounds are deposed as suggestions and musical phrases form conversations; a surefire way of easing each other’s hesitations. Duvet follows Hoyland’s 2023 LP Ode To Stone, which also involved Urd, but while that project looked outward to Denmark’s national parks; this one folds inward, tracing the comforts of interlaced, wordless voices, processed winds, bass, pedals and tape-driven textures.
