There’s plenty to get the blood pumping on this second set of remixes of tracks from Kraak & Smaak’s most recently album, the colourful, electrofunk-influenced Pleasure Centre. For proof, check out Aeroplane’s slick, cheery and ear-catching take on ‘Twilight’ (think Balaeric nu-disco meets proto-house), Prins Thomas’s devilishly acid-fired, Moroder-inspired Diskomiks of ‘Same Blood’ (the EP’s standout moment for us), and the sample-heavy, soul-flecked deep house revision of ‘Naked’ from sometime Heist Recordings regular ‘Fouk’. Other highlights include Satin Jackets’ pleasingly summery rework of ‘Sommeron’ and the low-slung, percussion-rich vibe that marks out Fatnotronic and Emmo’s remix of ‘Echo Park’. – Juno
