British drum & bass and ambient artist ASC assures us of the balming power of time on this latest reissue of an early ethereal “d&b” LP of his, first released on the Canadian label Silent Season. As if to retrospect on a life led cosmically, this early LP from the interstellar stepper does well to abstract the sound, establishing ASC as a soundscape artist first and foremost. Rollers need foundations to roll on! Highlights here include ‘Are We On The Same Wavelength?’ and ‘Vanishing Point’, but all tracks really draw on the same idiom; pulse-static washes of ambience, like distant, debris-filled lunar deserts, far away from the party.
