Steve Crawford was born in Detroit but is based in Phoenix, though his Motor City DNA still shines through as he lands on Norm Talley’s Upstairs Asylum. ‘Arctic Vibration’ is a joyous deep house sound with drums that rock back and forth on their heels, big camp claps and effortlessly cool chords that are warm and breezy. It’s perfect for early doors warm-ups or sunrise moments of magic. The one and only soulful house great Osunlade then offers up a Yoruba Soul mix that is sympathetic to the original but with some extra melodies layered in and wordless vocals for a more club-ready feel.
