Like much music currently being released, Hayley Williams writer her latest album Flowers For Vases/Descansos in quarantine. That had a clear impact on the mood and style of the music as it has resulted in her most quiet album yet, but one that is strewn with plenty of emotional baggage. The experimental pop, folk-laced melodies and indie leaning sounds are suffocated by a heavy sadness, with eloquently arranged tracks and plenty of lyrical anguish all defining the record. The whole affair is soften by its dreamy edges and that helps make this such a devastatingly brilliant record.
