Two decades in, Baltimore synthpop heads Future Islands sidestep the expected retrospective with From A Hole In The Floor To A Fountain Of Youth, the 2026 collection of alternate versions, rarities and long-rotating favourites. A large chunk of thair work is absent from streaming services, and some say it’s their greatest: ‘Find Love’, ‘Sail’, ‘As Long As You Are’ and ‘Days’ sit welcomingly here beside deeper cuts and demos, chief among them ‘Rager’. A lesser-seen hole in their patchwork is darned – not a victory lap but a parallel route through a charming discog built over 20 years.
