Description
2025, 12″ LP, Delsin.
According to Delsin, Xenia Reaper’s latest beauty honours the “time-honoured craft of introspective sound manipulation, folding gaseous pads into dissected breaks and running heavyweight machine pulses through achingly beautiful synthesis.” No arguments from us, although maybe a few more adjectives and nouns would be useful. Dress for ambient floating on a cloud, experimental submerged in the shadowy depths of a sonic ocean, industrial downtempo, and deconstructed IDM on the verge of Kruder & Dorfmeister DJ Kicks dnb. Mostly written and created using a Eurorack modular synth and Max For Live platform over the course of five years (with work beginning in 2020), Nept Polarisation is so incredibly atmospheric it almost feels like a disservice not hearing it pulsate and glide out of a fine-tuned rig install inside a gothic cathedral. Still, maybe one day.
