Argentinian singer Sofia Viola joins forces with fellow Buenos Aires artist Chancha Via Circuito on a set that draws heavily from Latin American folk traditions whilst leaving plenty of room for spiritual exploration. ‘Renacimiento’ opens with softly unfolding percussion and meditative atmosphere before ‘Virgen Del Lo Alto’ deepens the devotional mood through Viola’s expressive vocal delivery. ‘La Esperanza’ and ‘Diosa’ balance acoustic instrumentation with gently detailed electronic textures, then ‘Pajarito Ya Volaste’ introduces a touch more rhythmic movement that preserves the album’s reflective character. Closing cut ‘Ofrenda’ feels exactly as its title suggests, a heartfelt offering built from ambient flourishes and warm musicianship. A thoughtful collaboration that finds common ground between folk heritage and contemporary electronic production.
