This no-nonsense collection of peak-time-focused workouts from Dutch legend Orlando Voorn was first made available in limited quantities for those who attended last year’s Amsterdam Dance Event. It’s good that it’s been given a full release, because there’s plenty to set the pulse racing across the EP. Check first ‘Love Is In The Air’, a loved-up, disco-sampling chunk of dusty deep house bliss that sounds like it could have been made by a Detroit great, before admiring the percussion-laden beats, early Basement Jaxx synth stabs and multicoloured deep house pump of ‘Positive Vibes’. Voorn begins side B by dusting down and reworking his 1992 anthem ‘The Light’, re-framing it as a deep disco-techno roller, while ‘It’s Been So Long’ is a lightly housed-up take on a soulful disco classic.
