Description
2026, 12″ LP, XL.
The second full-length dance music update from brothers Tom and Ed Russell hears them again in full force, years after Good Lies. Pure Devotion takes its title from the live event series the duo launched in 2024, and the two things have fed each other: the show grew through Glastonbury’s West Holts to a sold-out Alexandra Palace climax, while the album’s ideas crystallised during writing retreats to Spain and Iceland, with a deliberately physical writing approach: production sundries include a 1930s train station Tannoy speaker, tape run over magnets, an overclocked FX unit acquired in Bromley, and a crash cymbal coated with coffee grounds and crisps. It’s led up by the minimal euphoriser ‘Lockup’, which samples Fast Relief’s ‘What A Waste’, driving an original post-punk opus to alarm-laden, four-to-the-floor limits.
