German sound artist Carsten Nicolai, recording as Alva Noto, pivots here from the pin-sharp micro-rhythms of his earlier glitch experiments toward something far more expansive, the music drifting through vast digital atmospheres, fragments of sampled sound stretched and dissolved until they resemble distant orchestral clouds. ‘Haloid Xerrox Copy 3 (Paris)’ hovers in slow, luminous suspension, tones swelling like light through fog. ‘Haloid Xerrox Copy 11’ deepens the scale, low electronic currents shifting beneath wide cinematic textures. Later, ‘Haloid Xerrox Copy 111’ glows with hazy melodic warmth before ‘Haloid Xerrox Copy 9’ closes the sequence in darker tension, its grainy drones gathering into a brooding electronic horizon.
