FKA twigs’ fourth album was initially conceived as a deluxe edition of January 2025’s GRAMMY-winning, Mercury Prize-shortlisted EUSEXUA, but it evolved into something far more ambitious: a fully standalone sequel exploring the comedown rather than the high. EUSEXUA was a love letter to underground techno and its capacity for transformation, while Afterglow lives in the hours after, when the energy still warms you as you head home. The beats here are more fractured, more derelict, more playful, drawing together every thread of twigs’ catalogue from the dancefloor adoration of EUSEXUA to the hooky wit of CAPRISONGS and the vulnerability of MAGDALENE. There is also a single guest turn from PinkPantheress on the irresistible ‘Wild And Alone’, which is worth hearing alone.
