The Beatles’ ever-growing archive opens even wider with Anthology 4, a triple LP gathering sessions and rarities from 1963 through 1969. Giles Martin combs the vaults for 13 unheard demos and elusive studio takes, plus the group’s 2023 farewell single ‘Now And Then’. Fresh mixes of the mid-90s Anthology singles ‘Free As A Bird’ and ‘Real Love’ arrive too, rebuilt by Jeff Lynne from newly separated John Lennon vocals. 26 recordings make their vinyl debut here, while the double CD adds a different 17-track spread. Kevin Howlett contributes extensive liner notes, joined by a 1996 reminiscence from confidant Derek Taylor.
